Tuesday Type | Keri Smith Book Covers

It’s Tuesday and it’s time to share some type!

Chanced upon Keri Smith‘s books last week and got drawn to their covers. Nothing too fancy or graphic or precise—just some raw hand lettering and doodles that work!

Keri Smith is a conceptual artist and author of the creativity books you see above.  She has a few more that I just wasn’t able to take photos of . You may  head on to her site for the complete listing and really, YOU HAVE TO VISIT HER SITE! It’s awesome! The landing page has an embedded app that prompts you to doodle what’s right in front of you. 🙂

Anyway, what do we learn from these book covers?

CONTEXT! There’s a proper time to go romantic or edgy or formal or comic. In the case of Keri’s book, the minimalist yet playful approach invites us to the creativity found in its pages.

  1. Ohh Keri Smith! I have two of her books Wreck This Journal and Finish This Book both of which I haven’t touched since I bought it *yikes*. I love how she encourages us to tune in to our inner kid and how simple being creative is.

Hey, maybe it’s time for you to flip through the pages already and when you do, tell me about it 🙂
